News.

An eventful autumn with many exciting events is behind us. We will take you on the GRASS Guided Press Tour as part of the 2024 Kitchen Mile, which focused on the topic of "Purpose Driven Innovation", take you through SICAM 2024 and give you an insight into our international joinery cooperations.

Trade fair

SICAM 2024.

This year, SICAM celebrated its 15th edition - a proud anniversary that underlines the importance of this trade fair. We are proud to have been a part of this event for a long time, and we were represented once again this year with our movement systems. It was a great opportunity to showcase our latest movement solutions to an international audience and to exchange ideas with industry peers and our customers.

SICAM 2024 Highlights.

This year’s SICAM attracted an impressive 23,642 visitors from a total of 9,243 companies from 118 countries to Pordenone. 692 exhibitors from 34 countries were present on an exhibition area of 19,135 m². This international diversity once again made the trade fair an important meeting point for the industry.

The GRASS exhibition stand covered a total of 120 m² and was all about our new products, first and foremost the thinnest steel frame in the world - Vionaro V8. In addition, we were able to present the new 30 kg Dynaneo underfloor guideway, the new Nova Pro family platform concept with the Nova Pro One and the new Tiomos 155 wide-angle hinge to the international audience.

SICAM 2024

"SICAM 2024 was certainly a highlight on the calendar for many visitors and exhibitors, and the numbers didn’t disappoint. Not only did we see an increase in the recorded visits, and secure more opportunities, we also managed to engage with our key accounts in a very meaningful way."

Purpose Driven Innovation

Guided Press Tour 2024.

This year’s Guided Press Tour to the Kitchen Mile focused on a forward-looking theme called "Purpose Driven Innovation". Together with our partners, we initiated a sustainable and sense-oriented discourse at the annual press event, which will benefit all industry participants in the long term. One thing is for sure: The kitchen industry is facing fundamental changes.

We once again used the Guided Press Tour 2024 in East Westphalia to live up to our role as a driving force in the kitchen industry. As part of the Kitchen Mile, we visited our customers Häcker Küchen, Leicht Küchen, SieMatic and Rotpunkt Küchen together with journalists from various trade magazines. The focus was on "Purpose Driven Innovation" - an approach that aims to drive developments that not only meet the demands of the market but also fulfil a deeper meaning and purpose.

One example of this is the revolutionary Vionaro V8 Slim Drawer System. With a frame width of just 8 millimetres, it sets new standards in design and functionality. The system is made entirely of steel and is therefore not only extremely durable, but also fully recyclable. This is how GRASS puts the purpose idea into practice: to develop sustainable products that meet customer needs while minimising the environmental footprint.

However, the topic of "Purpose Driven Innovation" goes far beyond product development and is based on a completely new mindset, which shifts the focus away from efficiency-driven success principles and back to creativity and human power. The basis for innovation and sustainable business. In an exciting keynote speech, Harald Klüh, Human Unlimited Austria, outlined how this transformation can succeed and how companies benefit in the long term when employees turn from a cost factor into an asset.

The future of joinery

International cooperations with joinery vocational schools.

At GRASS, we are committed to supporting the next generation of tradespeople. Through close partnerships with joinery vocational schools, we specifically promote young talent and accompany them on their way to a successful professional future in the joinery trade.

Masterpieces from the Heinrich- Hübsch School in Karlsruhe.

As part of these collaborations, we offer students the opportunity to experience our innovative movement systems first-hand and integrate them into their own designs. We recently welcomed a group of aspiring master joiners from the Heinrich-Hübsch School in Karlsruhe, who are preparing for their master craftsmanship exams. During their visit, they had the opportunity to try out our products in practice and gain valuable insights into how our systems can improve their furniture.

To further support their projects, we have given each student a voucher with which they can order GRASS products for their future masterpieces. With this initiative, we not only strengthen our ties to the young professionals, but also ensure that their work is equipped with the highest quality materials. We visited the graduation year at the presentation of their masterpieces in Karlsruhe. Of the 25 masters in total, 14 have processed GRASS movement systems.

Artful piece of jewellery from the well-known joiner’s workshop at the Brugnera Institute.

The impressive result of another international cooperation was presented as part of SICAM 2024: For the first time, we worked with the Istituto di Istruzione Superiore Statale di Sacile e Brugnera, whose students designed a workpiece made of wood and steel. Embellished with artistic representations of Roman gods, this unique piece of jewellery perfectly integrates our high-quality movement solutions. The students at the Brugnera Institute relied on the proven Tiomos M9 movement systems for furniture doors from 12 mm and the unique Nova Pro Scala drawer system.
